Fishes are beautiful creatures and have been living on earth even before the time of dinosaurs. There are more than 25,000 species of fish living across the stretch of oceans and many more are yet to be discovered. We even grow fishes in our homes for their mesmerizing beauty. They are of different colors, sizes and shapes. So they always catch hold of us with their electrifying beauty.
They have special breathing organs called gills, which are capable of accessing oxygen from water. They have a set of scales and fins that help them swim and survive under water. They can be omnivorous or carnivorous. The small fishes are omnivorous as they feed on both small plants and organisms. Big fishes feed on small fishes and other creatures in the water.
For the fishes that we grow in our aquarium, we feed them with food pellets made out of the flesh of other fishes enhanced with plant minerals. Also fishes live in packs and they may easily get homesick or feel bad about their living habitats. So in aquariums, fishes are always grown in pairs or as a group.
